This award celebrates a dedicated student intern who demonstrates excellence, professionalism, and meaningful contribution within the dynamic and evolving field of health services.

Please provide a detailed nomination (approximately 800–2000 words) describing why your nominee deserves this award. Your submission should clearly demonstrate how the student meets the eligibility requirements and exemplifies the key attributes outlined below.

  • Confirm that the student participated this year in a CAREERS healthcare internship.

  • Describe the student’s placement and responsibilities.

  • Outline the scope of their internship and the type of work they were exposed to.

2. Impact on the Organization & Program Goals


Clearly illustrate how the student positively impacted the organization and/or contributed to the goals of their internship.

Consider addressing:

  • How did the student add value to the workplace?

  • Did they increase productivity, support team morale, or take initiative on specific projects?

  • How did their involvement reflect the goals of the organization?

  • What measurable or observable outcomes demonstrate their contribution?

Provide specific examples to help the Selection Committee understand the student’s level of engagement and achievement.

  • How has this internship helped shape or clarify their career goals?

  • How did they connect their learning outcomes to future training or employment plans?

  • Have they expressed intent to pursue further education  in their chosen field?

Safety Awareness

  • How did the student demonstrate safe work practices?

  • Did they consistently follow safety protocols and respect equipment and hazardous materials?

  • Did they attend safety meetings or complete safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection)?

  • How did they serve as a role model for safety in the workplace?

Employability Skills Demonstration

  • How did the student demonstrate growth in foundational skills, personal management skills, and teamwork skills?

  • Provide examples that reflect their development in communication, problem-solving, adaptability, collaboration, or accountability.

  • How did they apply these skills in real workplace situations?
